CAN I GET A WOOT WOOT FOR SPELLING CITY!!!!!

My youngest daughter Kaleigh (pictured above lol) is really struggling with her reading and spelling.  Spelling City is a great resource for parents and elementary students.  Just import your child's weekly spelling list and let spelling city work it's magic!  The website will teach them the words, let them play games and test them!  Oh and the best part it's FREE!!!!!!!   Spelling City Website 

Sharon Gourlay is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist that specializes in Hypno-Maternal Services- helping women before, during the birthing year and beyond.  She became interested in hypnosis because of dramatic events which unfolded in her family.  Because of this tragedy she decided to leave her well established career as an Account Executive and become a childbirth educator and hypnotherapist. Sharon is the only HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Educator in the Central Ohio region who is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.  She has dedicated her career to help women with fertility, pregnancy, birthing, trauma, and other issues.  During the past four years Sharon has taught private HypnoBirthing®  classes to couples all over Ohio and worked with different clients in her hypnotherapy practice.

Heather Rager Photography Ministries

Hello Friends,

Happy Monday!!!  I am so excited to be back to work and reestablishing our business here in Florida.  It has been great meeting so many new clients the last few weeks.  The only part of my business that I love more than shooting is our ministries. 

Over the years our photography ministries have taken on many forms. Now that we are living and working in Florida full time I am also ready to start giving back to my local community.  Some of our ministries include but I are not limited to the following:

Healing Hearts..... Captured Connections......Hospice Ministry

~This is our ministry for families with loved ones battling chronic or terminal illnesses.  These sessions are designed to not focus on the illness but the love and connection families share.  The last kiss between a father and his adult daughter.  A small child holding the hand of her beloved grammy.  The special bond that grows between siblings when their brother/sister is fighting a childhood disease.  I have gone out in a blizzard in the middle of the night to be with parents of infants who have gone to heaven ahead of them.  We don't focus on the illness we focus only on the relationship.  People have asked me over the years how and why I do this.  My answer is simply because God has asked me to.  Yes it is very hard on me emotionally but I have seen time and time again how important this ministry is.  These services are 100% free for the families.  We do the sessions in homes, hospitals or extended care facilities. 

My Place In This World.... Foster Care Ministry

~This ministry in designed for children in the foster care system.  Unfortunately they often move from home to home..... family to family.  Our goal is to give these children and the families caring for them a photographic record of their time spent together.  This also gives the children an actual image of themselves for their foster families to proudly display on their walls.  More importantly than all of that we want these children to feel beautiful and special.  These services are 100% free for the child and their foster families. 

Put Me In Coach..... Youth Sports Ministry

~As parents of three very active children we have spent years as spectators and coaches.  We know first hand how expensive youth sports can be.  Over the years we've been honored to have the opportunity to photograph the leagues/organizations our children have been a part of. We offer custom unique products and portrait quality images to our youth sports clients.  We also give 10% of the net prints profits directly back to the children.  This is a great built in fundraiser for any league/organization. 

Yes....Heather Rager Photography is a business but Heather Rager (me) feels that our ministries are the foundation on which every other part of our business is built.  If you have a have a need for any of the above mentioned ministries please contact us and we will do our best to meet those needs.

Macias Family

I had the pleasure of photographing the Macias Family last night.  It was so much fun to hang out  with them.  Kerry and Ernie are two of the most wonderful genuine people I know.  Their kids are a hoot!!!!  Here's a quick preview of their session!

About a year and a half ago I was at a new clients house doing a session.  The baby had a giant booger in his nose.  I expected the mom to break out the good ole blue nasal aspirator.  I sat down waiting for the inevitable screaming from booger removal.. instead all I heard was a quite humming.  I had to investigate and I found the mom using this product.  I'm past the booger sucker stage of parenting but you if are not this is a MUST HAVE!

The benefits of being one of a kind!

Hello Friends,

I've been thinking about this a lot the last couple of days.  When you have to rebuild a business in a new city it can be a little scary but that's the great thing about being a photographer..... we are all one of a kind!  God has given all of us our own vision of beauty!  My style is NOT for everyone.  My vision is NOT for everyone and you know what that's okay! 

Who wants to be like everyone else.... that would be sooooo boring!  The older I get (let's face it I'm not 20 anymore) the more willing I am to embrace my individuality.  I have the craziest name Heather Yhone Sunshine Wright-Rager..... that certainly makes me one of a kind lol!  I'm super short but that gives me a really interesting view of the world!  I have the strangest hair that every other day I consider shaving myself bald or going with the deadlock look!  Oh I almost forgot about my feet.... they are size 5 1/2, they are really smelly for being so small and my toe nails grow weird. 

So we've gotten my physical one of a kind stuff out of the way... he he he..... hmmmm what else can I tell you.  I'm obsessed with music of every genre!  I've been told I remind people of Kitty the mom off That 70's Show..... oddly I think I'm okay with that!  My children have me constantly twisted in a state of laughter, love, frustration, awe and inspiration!  My husband is my biggest fan and toughest critic..... I love and hate that....lol!  I love to be a blessing to others.  I am a firm believer that we all have great power to help others succeed.  However on the flip side of that I'm extremely prideful and would rather poke my own eyes out than to ask for help from others!  Yeah God is really trying to grow me in that area.

So what are the benefits of being one of a kind?  They are the God given opportunities you have everyday to embrace who you are now and strive to be the person you want to be.  They are letting your best qualities shine but also revealing your faults so others don't feel quite so alone in theirs.  They are enjoying all of the good times in your life and accepting that the hard times are there to grow you!  

The biggest most important benefit is simply being the best "one of kind" person that only you can be!  So today I challenge you think about what makes you one of a kind.  My favorite quote is "Be yourself..... because everyone else is already taken" give it a try today!!!

Kaleigh's Horse Dreams Come True

My youngest daughter had her dreams come true last week!  She was invited by a friend to visit a farm where is boards her horse.  Thanks you to Ms. Jennie, Ms. Mandi and Makayla for being such a blessing to Kaleigh!
